Family Math Magic Night - November 19th, 7PM at McKelvie Intermediate School.  All community members are invited to attend a performance by internationally known Mathemagician Dr. Arthur Benjamin. Dr. Benjamin will amaze you with feats of mental math... he'll beat your calculator! There is no admission charge, all ages welcome.

 

Bedford PTG Ski and Skate Sale 2009

November 21st  9:00 AM – 2:00PM - Join the Bedford community at the Bedford High School for a consignment sale of new and used ski and boarding equipment, skates and clothing.  Click here for more info.

Book Fairs a huge success!!! The annual Scholastic Book Fairs were held the week of April 13th in all three elementary schools, McKelvie Intermediate School and Ross Lurgio Middle School. Combined sales totaled over $50,000!!!  In addition to the profit earned by the PTG, which will be used for PTG sponsored programs, the school libraries received over $4650 in free books. Students at Riddlebrook school met a challenge to raise over $300 to purchase books and got to slime Mrs. McCarthy and Mrs. Halley!!!!  Click here for pictures.

 

Current Drugs of Abuse-What Parents Need to Know

“Current Drugs of Abuse-What Parents Need to Know”, an educational forum specifically targeted at parents, was held at the Bedford High School theater on March 12th. This program was presented by Special Agent Lisa Remick, the DEA's Demand Reduction Coordinator for Maine, New Hampshire and Vermont. The mission of the DEA Demand Reduction Program is to enhance prevention programs across the nation by developing strategic alliances with state and local drug prevention organizations, treatment experts, community coalitions, and the general public. During this presentation, attendees learned about the current drugs being abused in New Hampshire, including methamphetamine, marijuana, cocaine, heroin and prescription drugs.  The paraphernalia associated with the abuse of these drugs, as well as the signs and symptoms, were also covered.  Tips and strategies were given to attendees to help keep their child drug-free.  Click here to view the presentation slides.
